The Reading Science Center is a hands-on science museum for children. Our mission is to foster a love of science through exciting and experiential STEM education for the Greater Reading community, especially our youth.
Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Programming provides direction and guidance for the Reading Science Center’s education staff, and as such, acts as a model educator in classrooms. This position supervises programming throughout the week to ensure quality and consistency across the education staff, and also acts as a first point of substitution in the classroom if needed.
The position is responsible for scheduling field trips and communicating with organizers. This includes responding to inquiries, confirming dates/times, sending reminders, and following up with surveys. This position is also responsible for generating, sending, and following up on invoices for educational programming. The position also includes tracking, purchasing, and helping to prep the inventory of supplies and materials for scheduled educational programs.
